Asbestos Experience
Hutzel & Associates, Inc. is involved in surveying buildings for asbestos problems, developing management plans, preparing abatement specifications, and overseeing their proper removal as Project Manager for the building owner. Specific experience includes:
- Surveying buildings to identify friable and non-friable asbestos-containing materials
- Preparing specifications and cost estimates for the proper abatement of asbestos materials in buildings
- Monitoring asbestos abatement to assure that all visible materials have been removed
- Inspecting abatement projects to assure that all visible materials have been removed
- Measuring airborne asbestos prior to, during, or after abatement work
- Monitoring and controlling industrial use of asbestos as a raw material
- Evaluating regulatory requirements and developing site specific procedures for compliance with asbestos requirements
- Implementing asbestos procedures, including employee training, agency liaison, and on-going audit programs

Mr. Hutzel developed Salt River Project's Asbestos Safe Handling Procedures prior to promulgation of AHERA and OSHA asbestos regulations in Arizona. He has lectured in the U.S. and Canada on the hazards of asbestos. He was Co-Founder of the Arizona Chapter of the National Asbestos Council. He is regarded as an asbestos consulting expert in Arizona and his company works with clients throughout the United States to ensure compliance with regulations and minimize liabilities.
